light sussex

have a light sussex cockeral he is around 6months old
lookin at pics on the internet and books the all are snow white, but my lad has like a gold colour jus on the chest and back, will he moult this colour out and be white, or is this common? im new to poultry so im not sure
any help would be greately apreciated

    Any pictures Andrew. Might help. Light sussex should be white as you said. If he has gold on him it won't moult out. Prehaps he's a cross breed???

    i wil take a pic in the morning and put it up, my dad said he might be a cross, my 6 light sussex hens are snow white, so a new cock is on the shoping list now then,

    I'd agree with your dad. At 6 mounths he should be a good size for the pot so

    It sounds like you have a sussex Star which is a cross between a suzzex cock and a RIR hen they keep most of the cocks line but the hens do not have the full colour of the true sussex and the cocks will get some of the colors of the rir hen.

    got a new light sussex cockeral last weekend, a family friend took the sussex star!wil stick pics up soon
