Hi,
I am almost ready to get chickens for my newly constructed coop and spacious run, I am looking for half a dozen Rhode Island Reds, and need recommendations re where to buy and more importantly where not to buy ready to lay hens . also how much should i be looking to pay for quality laying hens .
I am located in Co Kildare.

    Hi Daz. Are you looking for pure rhode islands or is it brown hybrids farmyard types your looking for? (some people confuse the two) John

    not specifically looking for pure bred, farmyard version sounds more hardy ?
    any suggestions as to where to go to buy them ?

    Hi Daz I have brown hybirds that I breed myself, there wormed and vaccinated, their 20 weeks old (point of lay) heres some more info

    Picked up birds and eqpt from Leo at old mcdonalds farm today, thanks for all advice

    I was looking at his pullets yesterday. Went down for a quick spin to myshal. Good health pullets. A few people told me that some of them had laid in the trailer. What part of kildare are you in Daz ???
