Do I need to supply grit and oyster shell

Novice here.Up till now my 3 hens have had access to the whole garden but missus not happy with scratching up flower beds and poop in yard.I have(under orders from missus) decided to confine them to an area 15metres x 5metres which will be 75% grass.
Will this area provide all the grit and Calcium (apart from the pellets) that they need. They will also have access to a stone wall running the length of the new area, rose bushes and a few other plants. Thanks in advance.

    Hi Roseyspecklesnowy,
They should get a sufficient amount of grit from just free-ranging. This article should help you:

I use builder's sand with my birds and they love to bathe in it as well as eating it, which helps them digest their food......Tom.

They need Oyster shell grit, usually found in mix grit, as this make up the calcium in eggs and bones.
