Strange breathing from 8week old bluebell

edited June 2010 in Feeding & Health Care
Hi All,

i have recently got 2 light sussex and 1 bluebell chicks. They are about 8 weeks old and in a separate coops to our other five loman hens. I have noticed recently that the bluebell chick seems to be struggling with its breathing ....as if she is getting her breaths from the heavens..... with every breath her neck goes out and up and then the odd chirp..... it has been very hot weather recently could this have anything to do with it? Any ideas?
Also one of my original hens seems to be sneezing alot lately and has a continuos gurgleing sound but seems to be in good form.... again any ideas of what to give her
.
Thanks Damien

Thanks john for the reply .... brought her to vet a few weeks ago and he gave me antibiotics for a resperary problem ..... she is thriving now and all 3 chicks (9-10 week old ) out free ranging with the rest of the hens.
