Rooster death

Hello everyone,
We had a Rooster die here, The one noticeable symptom was his comb was a bit off colour, a bit bluish, all the rest are fine, any advice?

    Hi
I looked up the poultry health book and the main reasons they give is bad circulation and dyhydration. There are other diseases but they are very rare. Was he sick long?

    Thanks Maria,
he was out and about with the rest of the gang, It kind of caught me by surprise as we have a fox around at the moment I might not have noticed him in time, he had acess to plenty of fresh water and shelter. So far the rest of the flock are ok
    thanks again pf

Maybe he had a heart problem? Often if it is a sudden death, it can be a heart problem behind it. Some breeds are more susceptible to heart complaints than others (larger heavier breeds, obviously), but apparently, chickens do have high blood pressure - which is why they can die of shock and fright so easily, or so I'm told.

    Thanks ammcg,
I had a feeling it was something to do with his heart/circulation. It was a bit sad, I was preoccupied, we have a fox visiting during the day and I was too focused on that to spot the poor old rooster.
