Hi All

I live in the U.S. and I have 24 Redcap chicks that I ordered from Ideal Poultry. I plan to only breed the ones closest to the Standard of Perfection. So far I am very happy with the way they look.

    They look absolutely glorious! You got them from US? Thats a long way to go! Any idea of where can I look for them in UK? I was searching the "chickens" category here, bought other chicks, and didn't find those...

    Hi All

    My Redcaps aren't changing that much week by week so I will start posting pictures of them once a month. I wll post a picture of them around August 17 they will be 5 months old.

    look on north west poultry club site or done deal seen some for sale a while back

    So nothing here in USED (lol) chickens category worth seeing? Been at donedeal and didn't find anyththing, maybe there was none at this time, or maybe I just missed it. Well, will wait some more.

    Here are a couple of pictures of a nest box I made this weekend for my Redcaps. I can gather their eggs without having to go inside their pen and bother them. :D

    I am still waiting on them to start laying. I have a golf ball in each nest to give them a ideal were to lay.

    Brandon, they are a rare british breed, so you should find them on a british poultry site easily enough, but there are 2or3 breeders in the west of Ireland that I found on another irish site.

    Hi All

    I have been looking over my Redcaps and have noticed that my Redcaps have a green sheen. I think I have read that in the Redcaps it is best to have a blue or purple sheen in them. If anyone knows or has any information on what the color sheen should be please let me know. :)

    Hi All
    I went out to check on my Redcaps and one of the pullets is in the nest box . She may be checking the nest box out but if I am lucky I may be getting my first egg today. :D
